Diabetes, Healthy Feet & You!
Healthy Feet, Diabetes and Your education workshop is designed to empower people living with diabetes adopt self-management behaviors that can help them prevent diabetic foot ulcers and amputations. People living with diabetes are at greater risk of foot complications, this workshop reviews the effects of diabetes on feet, identify risk factor that lead to diabetic foot ulcers, and teach appropriate foot care techniques to prevent foot ulcers. Healthy Feet is a one-time 2.5 hour education workshop in community locations facilitated by trained facilitators. If you have Diabetes, tingling or numbness in your feet, shape of your feet changing or you have sores/blisters then you will benefit from this workshop.
Healthy Feet is an evidence based program developed and evaluated as a joint collaboration between the Canadian Association of Wound Care and the Public Health Agency of Canada.
Who can attend this workshop?
Individuals 18+ who are living with diabetes as well as their caregivers can attend this FREE education workshop. The program is highly interactive and participants should feel comfortable communicating and learning from others in a group setting.
