Training for Health Care Professionals Overview
Health care professionals understand the importance of encouraging patients to make healthy lifestyle choices, however to support lifestyle and behaviour change, additional training regarding specific self-management support interventions can be helpful.
The Mississauga Halton Self-Management Program is pleased to offer events for Health Care providers on further supporting Self-Management Skills such as communication, behavior change theories and motivational interviewing. In the past the Self-Management Program has supported a variety of Guest Speakers and hosted events such as Diversity and Inclusion and Health Literacy.
Our workshops are appropriate for health care professionals in the Mississauga Halton LHIN who have a role in motivating individuals to make healthy changes. This includes but is not limited to:
